Video. We all know that people – and that includes customers and prospects – love videos. The energy, the visuals, the dialogue, the cat tricks, and the fact that people just like to look at things make videos the most powerful way to get your message across.
Unfortunately, knowing this didn’t mean we had a company video at Transwall. In our case this was particularly frustrating since we have such an array of beautiful products and installations. Why not? It never got off our ’roundtoit list.
You know about ‘roundtoit lists. I’m sure you have one. It’s the list that has all the things we know we should do, but just haven’t gotten ‘roundtoit.
We know that video is preferred on the web and improves search results. We know that video tells a story more effectively than other methods. We also know that video needs to be good to make the impression you desire, and that’s not cheap. And we know that most people do not have appearing in a video on their bucket list.
Making a company video just hung around on our ‘roundtoit list.
Luckily, we have some excellent advisors. They helped us think through our dynamic new website and get it designed, built, and launched. As soon as the new website project was underway, the talk turned to the need to have a company video featured on the site. My ‘roundtoit finally rolled to the top of my get-it-done list.
Happily, I am part of Awarely, an organization that blends the best of executive networking and exceptional video production. First they helped me complete a personal video interview to see how it would work and if I’d like the result. It turned out so good that I invited the production crew to our facility.
I’m pleased to announce we finally got ‘roundtoit and now have a wonderful company video on our website. It turned out to be an easy process and lots of fun.
We’re receiving great feedback. Viewers like it. They’re getting a better picture of who we are and why we’re the best at what we do: walls, glass fronts and related products. The video brings us to life in a way that photographs and written words just can’t.
Best of all, in spite of some initial discomfort at having to appear on screen, our people now speak with pride of how cool it is to have our very own movie featuring…them.
